The protection of personal information is a fundamental right, formalized in laws including article 8 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. The General Data Protection Regulation (hereafter: GDPR) is a European law governing the protection of this fundamental right. The GDPR took effect on 24 may 2016 with full applicability in the entire European Union effective 25 May 2018.
The Dutch FOP Foundation (hereafter: FOP Foundation) is committed to handling personal information from data subjects with the utmost care; data subjects should expect no less from the FOP Foundation. Where such handling fails to meet expectations, the FOP Foundation asks data subjects to make this known. In addition, data subjects have the right at all times to submit a complaint to the supervisory authority. In the Netherlands this is the Dutch Data Protection Authority. More information can be found below under item 11. The FOP Foundation is issuing this privacy statement to assure its members, contributors and other data subjects of whom it handles personal information that such handling is done appropriately and transparently.
